Description

Besgrow Spagmoss Premier AAA 150 g (12 L) – long-fiber Sphagnum moss from New Zealand

Besgrow Spagmoss Premier AAA 150 g is carefully sorted, dried sphagnum moss (Sphagnum) from New Zealand, sourced from sustainable harvesting. After thorough hydration, the 150 g package expands to approximately 12 liters.

Premier AAA grade is distinguished by the length of its strands: at least half of the contents consists of fibers at least 150 mm long. The moss has a light brown, cream color with green accents and an acidic reaction (pH approximately 4.8), making it well suited to plants that need a moist, acidic environment.

The long, fluffy fibers support the roots and provide space for them to breathe, while quickly absorbing water and retaining it for a long time. This natural raw material contains no chemical additives and is also valued for its clean sorting and durability.

Key features

  • natural sphagnum moss (Sphagnum) from New Zealand, with no chemical additives
  • Premier AAA grade – at least half of the fibers are at least 150 mm long
  • acidic reaction, pH approx. 4.8
  • hand-harvested from carefully managed sites using sustainable harvesting practices and naturally air-dried
  • quickly absorbs water and retains it for a long time, allowing less frequent watering
  • fluffy structure providing roots with access to air
  • light, decorative color with green tones
  • dried – 150 g produces approx. 12 L of moss after hydration

Uses

Especially recommended for orchids, carnivorous plants, aroids, ferns and epiphytes – wherever plants need consistent moisture.

  • standalone growing medium for orchids, including species requiring consistently moist conditions
  • carnivorous plants (e.g. sundews), bromeliads and other tropical species
  • ferns and moisture-loving plants
  • filling for plant support poles – the moss releases moisture gradually
  • terrariums, jar gardens and vertical gardens
  • decorative material and a component of growing-medium mixes

Directions for use

  1. Place the required amount of dry moss in a container of clean, lukewarm water and leave it until the fibers are completely saturated and soft.
  2. Gently squeeze out excess water – the moss should be moist and springy, not dripping.
  3. Use it on its own as a growing medium or as a layer around the roots, or mix it with bark, perlite or another growing medium when you want to increase its water-holding capacity.
  4. During cultivation, keep the moss slightly moist by misting it as it dries; do not allow it to remain waterlogged.

Safety and storage

The moss is a natural product and is not suitable for consumption. Store in a dry place, in a sealed package, out of the reach of children and pets. Dry fibers may create dust – separate them in a well-ventilated area and wash your hands after handling.
