An electric propagator combines bottom heat with a humid microclimate under the lid. It is the simplest way to achieve fast and even germination of heat-loving seeds, such as palms, banana plants, peppers, and tomatoes.
What you will find in this category
Garland Fab 4 — four mini greenhouses on a heated base.
Garland SUPER 7 — a long propagator (76 cm) for a windowsill or shelf.
Propagators with temperature control — Single High Top and models with automatic temperature control, such as 59.5×41×20 cm.
38.5×24×20 cm propagator — a compact model with a heated base.
How to use an electric propagator
Place the propagator in a bright spot, but out of direct sunlight. Make sure the growing medium stays moist, and open the lid slightly every day for a few minutes. Once the seeds have germinated, increase ventilation and gradually acclimatize the seedlings to lower humidity.
You can find unheated propagators in the propagators category, while separate heating mats can be used to warm a larger area.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between an electric propagator and a standard one?
It has a heated base, so the growing medium stays warm regardless of the room temperature.
What temperature is suitable for germinating exotic seeds?
For most heat-loving species, 25–30°C.
