  • Serrano Hot Pepper - Capsicum annuum Serrano Hot Pepper - Capsicum annuum

    W. Legutko Serrano Hot Pepper - Capsicum annuum

Heart of Mexican cuisine. Serrano is a pepper you can’t replace in authentic salsa verde or pico de gallo. The elongated, small, shiny red fruits have a distinct heat (10,000 SHU – about 5× hotter than jalapeño), but above all – a characteristic, fresh, slightly fruity note.In brief Heat level: 10,000 SHU (clearly hot) Fruits: elongated, red, 3–5 cm Sowing under cover: March Planting: second half of May Harvest: August – October Position: sunny, sheltered Difficulty: medium Number of seeds per package: approx. 20 pcs (0.15 g) What makes this variety specialSerrano is a mid-early variety known for exceptional yield – one bush produces 30–50 fruits and is so heavily laden with red pods that it looks like an ornamental plant. It grows well in pots on balconies and terraces, making it an ideal choice for those without a garden but with a love for Mexican cuisine.Step-by-step cultivationSowing (March, under cover): sow seeds in trays or pallets at 22–25°C. When working with hot peppers, it’s advisable to wear gloves – seed juice can irritate the skin.Pricking out: transplant seedlings into 7–8 cm pots when they have their first pair of true leaves.Planting (second half of May): after frost has passed, in the ground or in pots of at least 5 liters, spaced 40 × 40 cm. Sunny, sheltered location, fertile and humus-rich soil.Care: moderate watering, fertilize every 2 weeks. The more sun, the hotter the fruits.UsageA staple of Mexican cuisine: salsa verde, pico de gallo, guacamole, meat marinades. In Poland, it works great as an addition to pizza, sandwiches, and pasta sauces. Can be dried, pickled in vinegar, frozen – it doesn’t lose its aroma.Gardener’s TipHot peppers love warmth – seeds germinate best at 22–25°C. If germination is uneven, it’s often due to too cold a substrate. Place the seed tray above a radiator (with insulation) or use a heating mat for sowing – the difference between 18°C and 24°C often means the difference between 5% and 95% germination.Specification Latin Name Capsicum annuum Variety Serrano Fruit Color red Heat Level 10,000 SHU Position sunny, sheltered Seasonality annual plant Sowing Time March (under cover) Planting Time second half of May Harvest Time August – October Spacing 40 × 40 cm Net Weight 0.15 g Series Hot Peppers Manufacturer W. Germination in 10–14 days.Pricking out: transplant seedlings into 7–8 cm pots when they have their first pair of true leaves.Planting (second half of May): after frost has passed, in the ground or under a tunnel, spaced 50 × 40–50 cm (wider spacing than typical peppers – Rokita grows wide).Care: regular, moderate watering. Plant Robertina next to tomatoes (or between them), or in a bed after last year’s tomatoes. Conversely, beans, radishes, and cabbage are bad neighbors for pepper.Specification Latin name Capsicum annuum Variety Robertina Type sweet, organic, mid-early Fruit color dark red Fruit weight 110–130 g Wall thickness 6–8 mm Position sunny, sheltered Seasonality annual plant Sowing time March (under cover) Planting time second half of May Spacing 40 × 50 cm Net weight 0.30 g Series Organic Manufacturer W. • Pattypan Squash Disco - Cucurbita pepo Pattypan Squash Disco - Cucurbita pepo

    W. Legutko Pattypan Squash Disco - Cucurbita pepo

Pattypan squash shaped like a bundt cake – like a miniature temple. Disco is an early, productive pattypan variety with characteristic cream-white fruits shaped like a bundt cake (or flying disc, hence the name). The flat center surrounded by a ruffled "ruff" is the hallmark of this variety. Disco pattypans are a vegetable garden classic – easy cultivation, striking appearance, tasty fruits. In brief Type: pattypan squash, early, productive Fruits: in the shape of a bundt cake / disc Color: cream white Growth habit: bushy Resistance: downy mildew Sowing: late April (pots) or May (ground) Location: sunny, fertile Number of seeds per package: 3 g (2 g + 1 g free) What distinguishes this varietyPattypan squashes are to cucurbits what cherry tomatoes are to tomatoes – small, decorative, productive. Disco produces whole clusters of small UFO saucer-shaped fruits. The bushy habit means they take up much less space than classic sprawling pumpkins. Resistance to downy mildew makes cultivation easier in wet years.Step-by-step cultivationSowing (late April, into pots): sow seeds into 8–10 cm pots. You can also sow directly into the ground in May, after the risk of frost has passed.Planting out (second half of May): plant seedlings at 1 × 1 m spacing, 2–3 seeds per spot. After emergence, keep the strongest plant.Care: sunny location, fertile and moist soil. Regular watering at the root. Mulching helps retain moisture and limits weeds.Harvest (July – September): harvest young fruits at 8–10 cm diameter. Larger ones become spongy and lose flavor. The more often you harvest, the more the plant sets.UsageSpecific pattypan: whole for pickling and preserving – small fruits are placed in jars like cucumbers. Great as a salad addition (cut into sticks), for stewing and frying (can be stuffed like small bowls). They look fantastic on the plate – spotted white saucers are an attraction of any dish.Gardener's tipPattypan squashes must be harvested every 2–3 days. If you leave them to grow for more than a week, the fruits become large, spongy, tasteless, and the plant stops setting new ones (because it "already has"). Rule: harvest before they reach the size of a saucer. Those up to 8 cm in diameter are perfect for pickling whole.Specification Latin name Cucurbita pepo Variety Disco Type pattypan squash, early, productive Growth habit bushy Fruit shape in the shape of a bundt cake / disc Color cream white Resistance downy mildew Location sunny, fertile Seasonality annual plant Sowing time late April – May Harvest time July – September Spacing 1 × 1 m Net weight 3 g (2 g + 1 g free) Manufacturer W. • Perlit 4L BIOVITA Perlit 4L BIOVITA

    BIOVITA Perlite 4L BIOVITA

Biovita Perlite 4L – natural aeration and improved soil structure Perlite is a high-quality gardening material with wide and versatile applications, primarily used to improve soil structure and create optimal conditions for plant growth. This product is suitable for both amateur and professional cultivation – in pots, balcony boxes, greenhouses, and specialized systems. Biovita Perlite is a natural raw material derived from volcanic glass. During thermal processing, the material expands, resulting in a lightweight, porous structure with excellent physical properties. The pores of perlite effectively store air and water, promoting proper root system development and reducing the risk of moisture stagnation in the soil. Thanks to its neutral pH and high structural durability, perlite does not chemically react with soil or fertilizers. It does not decompose and retains its properties for a long time, making it a stable and predictable additive to growing media. It is safe for plants and environmentally friendly. The role of perlite in soil Adding perlite to soil improves its permeability, prevents clumping, and facilitates oxygen access to roots. Such prepared soil responds better to watering, allowing excess water to drain freely, which is especially important in potted and container cultivation. Perlite also supports moisture stability – it retains some water and gradually releases it to plants. The best results are achieved by mixing perlite with other soil components such as garden soil, peat, coconut fiber, or specialized potting mixes. It can also be used as a standalone medium in hydroponic cultivation, provided appropriate fertilizers supplying all necessary nutrients are used. Applications of perlite improving soil structure and aeration, in potted, balcony, and greenhouse cultivation, for seed sowing and seedling production, in rooting cuttings, as a neutral substrate in hydroponic systems. Product specifications Capacity: 4 L Particle size: 3–6 mm Manufacturer: Biovita Biovita Perlite is a universal and proven soil additive that supports healthy plant growth, improves air and water conditions, and increases cultivation stability – regardless of plant type or growing method.

    BIOVITA Orchid substrate 3L BIOVITA

BIOVITA Orchid Substrate 3L – natural mix based on bark and coconut BIOVITA Orchid Substrate is a light, natural, ready-to-use substrate specially designed to meet the needs of epiphytic potted orchid species. The mix is made from natural ingredients that ensure proper air circulation, moisture control, and stable conditions for the plant’s root system. Orchids such as Phalaenopsis, Dendrobium, and Cattleya do not grow in traditional soil in their natural environment but are attached to tree bark. For this reason, they require a substrate with a loose, airy structure that does not retain excess water or cause root rot. The BIOVITA substrate is formulated to closely replicate these conditions for home cultivation. The base of the mix is pine bark, which provides structural stability and excellent permeability. It is complemented by coconut chips and coconut fiber, which help maintain moderate moisture in the root zone while allowing air access. This combination promotes healthy root growth and reduces the risk of damage. BIOVITA Orchid Substrate contains no chemical additives or artificial enhancers. It is completely natural and safe, making it suitable for regular repotting as well as for regenerating weakened plants. The mix is ready to use without rinsing, soaking, or additional preparation, which significantly simplifies orchid care. Using the right substrate is crucial for orchid health – it affects not only root condition but also growth rate, flowering ability, and overall plant vitality. The loose structure of the mix allows quick drainage of excess water after watering, which is especially important in potted cultivation. Key Features of the Substrate natural, light, and airy structure, provides effective drainage and protects against root rot, maintains stable, controlled moisture conditions, free from chemical additives and artificial fillers, ready to use – no rinsing or soaking needed, suitable for repotting and propagating orchids. Poinsettia Focus 100 ml – specialized fertilizer for the Christmas Star Poinsettia Focus is a liquid mineral fertilizer concentrate designed specifically for the unique needs of the Christmas Star (Poinsettia). This plant, especially during periods of intense growth and bract coloration, requires stable and precisely tailored feeding. The formula is based on pure, fully soluble mineral salts, supplemented with natural-origin ingredients, allowing for effective and safe nutrition of the plant in pot cultivation. Nature and purpose of the fertilizer The fertilizer is designed exclusively for poinsettias and addresses their needs both during the decorative period and outside the holiday season. The product is suitable for long-term care, even after flowering ends, helping the plant maintain good condition and a compact form. Importance of nutrients The foundation of the Poinsettia Focus formula is pure, soluble mineral salts that provide a complete set of macro- and micronutrients essential for proper growth. Their form ensures high availability of nutrients to the root system, which is especially important in pot cultivation. The composition is enriched with organic plant acids that support nutrient uptake and positively affect the substrate environment. Additionally, the included kelp extract acts as a natural growth stimulator and supports the plant’s overall resistance. It is recommended to apply every other watering throughout the entire growth and flowering period, as well as during the maintenance phase outside the decorative season. Each bush yields hundreds of small red tomatoes – perfect for whole jar preservation and as an attractive decoration for salads or cheese plates. In brief Type: tall, outdoor, cherry Fruits: round, fleshy, diameter 2–3 cm Sowing under cover: mid-March – early April Planting: second half of May Location: sunny Difficulty: medium – requires staking Number of seeds per package: approx. 180 pcs. (0.6 g) What distinguishes this varietyPokusa is a variety with continuous growth (indeterminate) – the bush grows and fruits as long as the weather allows. In return, you get clusters of 15–25 fruits that ripen gradually from June to October.Cultivation step by stepSowing (mid-March – early April, under cover): sow seeds in trays or pallets at a temperature of 22–25°C. Germination occurs after 7–14 days. Prick out at 10 × 10 cm spacing after the first pair of true leaves appear.Planting (second half of May): after the frost has passed, in the ground or in pots (min. 10 l) spaced 60–70 × 50–60 cm.
