Dosage and use
Preparation: pots and boxes must have drainage holes; spread 2–3 cm of expanded clay on the bottom. Mix the soil in the bag so that the perlite and fertilizer granules are distributed evenly, and lightly moisten dry soil. For sowing seeds and pricking out the most delicate seedlings, mix it with coco fibre or perlite at a 1:1 ratio, as fresh fertilizer-containing growing medium may be too “strong” for them.
Planting: remove the plant from its old pot, loosen the outer roots and position it at the same depth as before, 1–2 cm below the rim of the container. Fill the empty spaces with BIGOS and press down gently. In balcony boxes, plant with 15–20 cm spacing to give the plants room to grow.
Watering: water thoroughly after planting until water drains through the holes. Afterwards, water when the top 2–3 cm of the growing medium has dried out - balcony plants may need watering daily in midsummer, while indoor potted plants usually need it once a week. The permeable structure helps protect against occasional overwatering.
Feeding and repotting: do not use additional fertilizer for 5–6 months after planting - the coated granules work on their own. After this time (or in the following season), switch to liquid fertilizer or repot the plant into a fresh portion of BIGOS. Repot potted plants every 1–2 years, preferably in early spring.
