Plagron Pure Zym 500 ml – enzymatic substrate improver

Pure Zym by Plagron is a liquid product that improves substrate properties, based on natural enzymes. The enzymes accelerate the breakdown of dead plant material into smaller, looser particles. During this breakdown, additional nutrients are released, stimulating the biological life of the substrate and potentially becoming available for reuse by the plant.

Removing dead residues from the root zone facilitates nutrient uptake and increases the substrate's ability to absorb oxygen. The product also helps limit salt buildup in the substrate. The current formula contains a broader range of enzymes, allowing decomposition to proceed faster and more completely than with the previous version of the product.

Pure Zym is highly concentrated: at a dosage of 1 ml per litre of water, the 500 ml package is sufficient for 500 litres of solution.

Composition

Stabilised enzyme solution. The label lists cellulase, xylanase and glucanase, while the manufacturer's technical data sheet specifies the following enzymatic activity:

  • (Hemi-)cellulase: 164 BHU(2)HS/g
  • Endo-cellulase: 53 ECU/g
  • Beta-glucanase: 143 FBG/g
  • Concentrate pH: 4.8; conductivity (EC): 5.6 mS/cm; density: 1.12 g/ml
  • Appearance: yellow-brown liquid with a distinctive odour

Application

Pure Zym keeps the substrate and root zone in good condition throughout the entire growing period – from the first to the last watering – for houseplants, garden plants and greenhouse plants. It is suitable for all substrates: soil, peat mixtures and coco. Due to its organic origin, it is not intended for hydroponic growing methods such as NFT, DWC or aeroponics. If the solution is applied through an irrigation system, flush the lines after use.

Directions for use

  • Shake the bottle well before use.
  • Add 1 ml of Pure Zym to 1 litre of water (1:1000).
  • Use the solution with every watering throughout the entire growing period.
  • After some time, the solution may become cloudy or change its odour – this is a natural process related to the organic ingredients and is harmless to plants.

Safety and storage

Danger. May cause allergy or asthma symptoms or breathing difficulties if inhaled. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid breathing vapours and spray – do not spray the product; use respiratory protective equipment. IF INHALED: remove the person to fresh air and keep them comfortable for breathing; if respiratory symptoms occur, contact a poison centre or doctor. The product contains cellulase, xylanase, glucanase and CMIT/MIT reaction mass (3:1) in an amount below 0.01%.

Transport upright and store in a dark place at a temperature between 0 and 35°C, protecting from frost and direct sunlight. Dispose of the contents and container in accordance with local regulations. The shelf life of an unopened package is 4 years from the date of manufacture.
