During the growing season, water thoroughly, but only after the substrate has dried out; in winter, reduce watering to a minimum. The plant tolerates brief, light frosts (sources report hardiness of approximately \u003cstrong\u003e-4 to -6 °C\u003c\/strong\u003e), but only when the substrate is dry. In warm regions of Europe, it decorates rock and gravel gardens.
