Of all lavenders, narrow-leaved lavender is the most frost-hardy (tolerating around -20°C), unlike French or Spanish lavender, which in Poland will survive only in a pot at best.

Lavender is simultaneously a medicinal plant (flowers for calming infusions), a culinary herb (a foundation of herbes de Provence and an addition to meat and fish), a cosmetic and ornamental plant, and an exceptionally nectar-rich species.
