The colour is not merely visual – the seeds have a delicate, slightly sweet flavour and are valued by chefs. The plants are tall and strong, setting pods evenly and maturing at a similar time, which makes one-time harvesting easier, for example for the freezer.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThis is a mid-early variety that crops well outdoors in fertile, moist soils. Sow in rows 30–40 cm apart, placing 2–3 seeds together every 20–30 cm (or singly every 10–15 cm), at a depth of 4–5 cm.
